Wow can I ever get enough of steampunk! No I don't think so! I made this steam punk dress form cuz I was so tired of making Christmas ornaments and cards! I needed to craft with some metal! I am loving her.

December Design Team Project
Wow can y'all believe that Christmas is around the corner? Ask me if I am prepared?? Heck no! I am trying to finish a gazillion things...and I still have a package to mail tomorrow. Not looking forward to the line at the post office either!!
I did finish up my December design team project for the piece by piece even through I lost my voice. You might have seen my video and heard me screeching, sorry about that. But I am on the way to recovery and feeling so much better. So without further ado, here is my project and it's a gift for a very special lady!

The piece by piece project for November
I purchased a remnant of burlap a while back because the price was right. I didn't have any particular plans for it, just knew I had to have it! One of those impulse/hoarder purchases!! Well one day I was flipping through a magazine and saw a advent calendar using burlap and of course my mojo started to churn! I love working with burlap as it can be so versatile. You can jazz it up with bling or leave it natural for that country look. My wall hanging is a bit of both. I jazzed it up with some beautiful laces from the piece by piece etsy store. Bev has such gorgeous laces at her store and I knew they would be perfect for this project. Another thing that I love about this wall hanging is I can change it up, rearrange the banners, add more and even change the pictures. It will grow and change with my family. Thanks for stopping by and go check out thepiecebypiece.etsy.com

Handmade Holiday Card Blog Hop
I am so excited to be part of this Handmade Holiday blog hop
along with some very talented ladies. Make sure you follow along so you can see
some amazing homemade cards and enter to win some blog candy cuz we all like
candy, right? I will post all the links to each of the blogs at the end of this
post.
I decided to make my Holiday card
tone on tone with a pop of color and what a better color than white. It reminds
me of winter and snow. Now it never snows here in southern Arizona ,
but one can dream… ya know like the song “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas”.
Well I am really dreaming!
Ok so here is what I used for this Winter Snowflake card
Glitter cardstock 4.25 x 5.25 inch
White cardstock 4 x 5 inch embossed using a Tim Holtz
Snowflake embossing folder.
Glitter cardstock strip 4 x ¾ inch
Sliver snowflake from Michaels
Recollection covered button from Michaels
The card is simple but elegant. I love the glitter of the
back ground, the glitter strip and the snowflake, looks just like the real
thing to me! Hope you enjoyed the hop so far, maybe even got a little inspiration.
Now if you follow my blog and leave a comment I will enter
you in a little blog candy. Here is a picture of the items I will be sending to
the lucky winner! Thanks again and Happy Holidays… Don’t forget to follow along
to the next post!

Happy Haunting - DT project for The Piece by Piece

Design Team Project for The Piece by Piece

I have a co-worker that is having a baby boy and I wanted her to have something that she could use after she opened the gift, so I created this unique gift/keepsake box. Here are the items that I used; "onies" chipboard, the Gothic frame in ivory, elegant blue trim by Webster's pages and the birds nest in blue. One of the things I love about this box is the paper in the frame is removable and she will be able to put a picture of her baby in the frame.
I also created a very cute Tea Bag gift box for another friend. This is one of my favorite pieces. The items I used: Teapot chipboard, French guipure lace in grey, Venice lace in mocha and the rectangle ribbon sliders.

An altered box!
We alter boxes all the time. Cigar boxes, paper mâché boxes and tin boxes, it's nothing new and neither is mine. :) But this box turned out so beautiful that I had to share. My hubby got a very nice piece of jewelry from his job for his 5 year anniversary. The jewelry was in this very nice box, I didn't even thing twice about it, until he asked if I wanted it! Oh my, how could I refuse! Here's what I altered...
